Water canal shut down to affect supply

People should take note that the municipality will also impose water restrictions as from June 1 due to the low water levels in the dams.

WHITE RIVER – Residents of White River and Rocky Drift are advised to use water sparingly as the canal will be shut down from May 11-13.

According to Mbombela Local Municipality, the call comes after the White River Irrigattion Board announced that the canal needs urgent repairs.

“We call on all community members to save water due to the limited supply from Nelspruit Water Works,” said Japie Van Oudsthoorn,manager for water and sanitation.

He further stated that people should take note that the municipality will also impose water restrictions as from June 1 due to the low water levels in the dams.
