MASOYI – The mysterious death of a 14-month-old toddler and the disappearance of his mother’s boyfriend has left many with unanswered questions.
Information received from the police alleges that the child’s 27-year-old mother left him with his boyfriend whilst she went on a shopping spree at Hazyview Shopping Complex on June 1.
Apparently there were some complications while the mother was away. It is further alleged that the boyfriend went for assistance from neighbours where he was apparently advised by an old woman to take the child to the clinic.
However, the boyfriend waited for his girlfriend’s return. It is supposed that two hours later, they rushed the baby to the local clinic where he was declared dead on arrival.
“Police were then called to the scene and on arrival, the boyfriend had already left and has not been seen ever since,” said Brig Selvy Mohlala.
He added that a post-mortem is still to be conducted to determine the cause of the baby’s death.
The police are now looking for Vusi Sambo whom they believe can shed more light into what led to the death of the minor.
