All is well in local government

The provincial government is still operating at the same pace since premier Mabuza's absence. As a matter fact, we are on full speed to speed up the service-delivery vehicle. I am actually working twice as hard

BUSHBUCKRIDGE – Acting premier, Mr Vusi Shongwe has assured local citizens that all is well and government hasn’t stopped working to improve their lives.

This is after the news of premier Mr David Mabuza’s “death” has surfaced and it has been alleged that since his absence government had collapsed.

“That is absolutely rubbish. Let me first put it on record that our premier (Mabuza) is very well and alive. I am actually in constant contact with him. He is recovering well and should return to work once he is cleared by his doctors to do so.

“We are disturbed by such rumours, but we understand that such stories were spread only to destabilise the province,” said Shongwe.

“Secondly, the provincial government is still operating at the same pace since premier Mabuza’s absence. As a matter fact, we are on full speed to speed up the service-delivery vehicle. I am actually working twice as hard.

“I am trying my level best, with the help of the entire cabinet to continue where Mabuza has left off and I must say that we are making headway,” Shongwe stated.
He said continuing Mabuza’s work hadn’t been an easy task because he (Mabuza) was known as a hard worker who even endured sleepless nights just to ensure that the province was better placed.
“I have worked with the premier for many years now and I got to learn from him, and right now I am sure that everything is in order and government is in action,” Shongwe said.
“I find comfort in the fact that we are ranked fourth in the entire African continent when it comes to governance,” he said.

Of all the 54 African states South Africa is ranked number four and is said to have been positioned high in all four categories.
