It has been said that the Zion Sector churches are the biggest in southern Africa, far surpassing the likes of ZCC and other church sectors, and for sure, is the longest living.
The Zion sects are sprawled across the whole of southern Africa and the worshipping and songs are very popular among many African tribes, but to an extent there is far wider recording of Zionist music on these shores, especially with neighbouring Swaziland.
It was thus that the 1st Annual Mpumalanga and Swaziland Zion Gospel Music Awards 2016 was established in order to recognise masters and martyrs of the Zionist music genre by the Unite in Zion.
On February 6, 2016, Mpumalanga and Swaziland Zion gospel artists and choirs will be recognized and crowned for the great work and their contribution towards the Zion music industry.
“We are doing this event because we are not recognised enough in the gospel industry. This event will bring us together and unite us AmaZion”.
It’s been a while for AmaZion to showcase their talent and we empower Zion churches because they are always releasing good albums which are not mostly recognised in the gospel industry,” says one of the organisers Thabo Banda.
“As the committee of Unite in Zion, we decided to combine Mpumalanga and Swaziland because we have a good relationship and we support each other.
Our aim is to do something good for us as AmaZion, we did our best to cover all ministries and mass choirs that are recorded around Mpumalanga.
There are various categories.. Tickets are limited so save the date for February 6, 2016.
