Sentimental lyrics give language new meaning

The Swati language has been rumoured to be South Africa's sexiest, and musicians are out to prove this is indeed the case.

MBOMBELA – Raymond Sambo of Steenbok, affectionately known as Ray S, has released his new single, “Sidzandzane”, and it seems to be giving us all the chills.

With lyrics such as “Savela sidzandzane sivela eNas’poti”, this single seems to be patriotic and sentimental to Mbombela.

“This is a song to appreciate the beauty of the women in Mbombela and the Lowveld altogether. More often than not, we find ourselves caught up in the mad rush of the world and tend to think that the grass is greener on the other side, and we forget to appreciate our own,” said Ray S.

This afro-soul number is a combination of a sizzling voice and harmonious beats and is guaranteed to make one feel the sentiment from the other side.

“The whole point is to make siSwati fashionable in the music industry, Afro’traction has started the trend and I’m joining in. One can sing a love song and make it beautiful, but it’s guaranteed to be even sexier when sung in siSwati,” added Ray S.

Sidzandzane is available for download and enjoys airplay on some radio stations in the Lowveld. According to Ray, his album will be dropping some time next year, and we can’t wait.
