Members of the legislature hit Bushbuckridge

A number of projects will be visited on Tuesday and the premier David Mabuza's state of the province address will be debated during the afternoon sitting

BUSHBUCKRIDGE – The Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature officially resumes its week-long programme of “Taking the Legislature to the People (TLP)” in Bushbuckridge Local Municipality.

During this week, members of the legislature and members of the executive council (MEC’s) are expected to interact directly with the people around the municipality.

According to Ms Thulile Nkambule from the speaker’s office, the TLP programme is aimed at giving members of the legislature first-hand information on service delivery matters and to assess the impact of service provided by government to the people.

“This programme also aims at giving members of the public an opportunity to raise concerns and to also appreciate the services that the government is rendering, especially where their lives have been improved,” marked Nkambule.

A number of projects will be visited on Tuesday and the premier David Mabuza’s state of the province address will be debated during the afternoon sitting.

MECs; HODs, the mayor of Bushbuckridge Local Municipality, Cllr Renias Khumalo, councillors, traditional leaders and government department officials will also attend the TLP programme.

Members of the public are invited to attend the week-long activities and are expected to be seated by 09:00 on a daily basis.
