Accident on KaMagugu road claims two lives

The driver fled into the bushes just after the accident. Two passengers died and 12 more are receiving treatment in hospital

KAMAGUGU – The police are searching for a driver of a taxi that killed two passengers on Sunday afternoon on the KaMagugu road.

According to Const David Raedani from the Nelspruit police station, the taxi’s tyre burst and the driver lost control of the vehicle.

It went straight to the rails, killing the two and injuring 12 more. The passengers are receiving treatment at the Rob Ferreira Hospital. The deceased were a male and a female passenger.

“According to some of the passengers, the driver fled into the bushes just after the accident. We are calling the public to assist us to apprehend him,” said Raedani.

The police are also investigating a case of culpable homicide. They had not established the identity of the owner of the taxi.
