Gareth Cliff has resigned after eleven years on the show

MBOMBELA – M-Net has confirmed that Idols SA judge, Gareth Cliff, has resigned after eleven years on the show.
Cliff dropped the bombshell on his Facebook page on Monday.

“It’s time! After eleven seasons of Idols, it’s time for me to say goodbye. What better way to bring this chapter to a close than a trip to New York and meeting American Idols judge, Harry Connick Jr, and being on his post-Idols show – ‘Harry’,” he said.

Earlier this year, Cliff brought an urgent application to the High Court in Johannesburg to have M-Net reinstate him after he was fired, following his tweet on a racist post by Penny Sparrow.
