Department ready to truly listen to the people
Khoza said that even though there were some parts of the province that experienced rainfall, drought is still a problem

The Department of Water and Sanitation has opened its call centre to ensure the public has access to water and sanitation information.
Speaking to Mpumalanga News, the provincial spokesperson for the department, Mr Themba Khoza, said the facility plays a vital role in assisting community members in reporting water and sanitation problems.
“The centre is very important because we are able to engage with community members so that as a department, we can assist in facilitating speedy resolutions. We are working very close with all our local municipalities,” said Khoza.
The public is encouraged to report water and sanitation problems by dialling the toll-free number, 0800-200-200, or using the SMS hotline, 45174. The department also opened a walk-in centre in the provincial office.
Meanwhile, Mpumalanga is one of the provinces affected by drought. Khoza said that even though there were some parts of the province that experienced rainfall, drought is still a problem.
“There’s a minor improvement, but we urge our people to use water sparingly and to make use of the facility, as well as the walk-in centre,” he concluded.
