WHITE RIVER – The wife of Mahlatsi Secondary’s former principal, Mr Mvelase Solomon Mdluli, who was suffocated to death with a black refuse bag at his home in White River earlier this year, appeared in the local Magistrate Court on Monday.

Ethel Smangele Mdluli, 54 was arrested at Rob’s Ferreira Hospital on Thursday. Her co-accused, Xolani Mngwenya (34) and Peter Khoza (52) from Matsulu appear in court today.

The case was postponed for their formal bail application on March 27, 2017.

The 57-year-old was allegedly suffocated by the suspects, while he was watching the Africa Cup of Nations.

Nkomazi residents were picketing outside White River Magistrate Court with placards opposing bail for Mdluli’s wife and the two co-accused.
