Cosatu insists premier Mabuza personally receives their demands

Thousands of Cosatu members marched to Mpumalanga Provincial Government to hand over a memorandum of demands against corruption and state capture.

This morning the protesters painted the City of Mbombela red in their regalia chanting slogans against corruption, they marched from the Lowveld Showgrounds to the government complex to hand over a list of their demands.

The protesters called on the premier David Mabuza to personally receive their demands. They even broke out in song, singing “Awafani lamagama” meaning the names are not the same when MEC Vusi Shongwe showed up to receive the memorandum on behalf of the premier.

Cosatu deputy president Zingiswa Losi and SACP’s representative Letshesa Tsenoli also attended the march.

Striking Makro employees also joined the Cosatu march.
