A man was left seriously injured when his vehicle overturned on the R35, approximately 10km outside of Middelburg yesterday.
When paramedics arrived at the scene they found a light motor vehicle lying on its side on the side of the road. They checked the vehicle upon which they found a man lying trapped inside.

Rescue services had to use the jaws-of-life equipment to free the man from the vehicle. Once the man had been extricated, he was assessed and found to have serious injuries.
The man was transported to Middelburg Provincial Hospital for further care.
