Seven illegal miners arrested while one is denied bail
According to the Hawks. the remaining two suspects were handed over to the Department of Home Affairs to establish if they have the correct paperwork to be in the country.
MPUMALANGA – Seven illegal miners were nabbed by members of the Hawks’ Precious Metals and Diamond Unit (PMD), and Barberton SAPS on Thursday, February 15 for illegal possession of Gold barring Material Ore.
Sipho Ndlamini, Nkosinathi Mkhondo, Dicky Mota and Innocent Shongwe were granted R1000.00 bail by the Barberton Magistrate’s Court. Their case was postponed to August 3 for further investigation. However, Thulani Mahlalele was denied bail and is expected back in court on February 21.
