Learners registration process continue

Early registration processes will enable the department to plan for the 2020 academic year.

Registration processes for the 2020 academic year in the province began on May 2 and will continue until the end of August.

“This will allow parents with children of schoolgoing age, including those who are ready to begin school next year as well as the learners with special needs to register their children at schools within their feeder zones,” explained Jasper Zwane, spokesperson for education.

He added that the early registration processes will enable the department to plan for 2020.

Parents and guardians are reminded to produce the following documents to register their children;

*An application form from the school,

*An  official birth certificate of the child

*Proof of immunisation,

* A transfer card if a learner transfers from one public school to another

*The  last report card issued by the previous school.

Parents can contact their local  school’s circuit offices or the departmental toll-free line on 0800-203-116 during office hours, Mondays to Fridays 08:00 to 16:00.
