Police search for farm murder suspects
A preliminary probe suggested that he was struck repeatedly with a sharp object
Sheepmoor police near Piet Retief are looking for unknown men who brutally killed a 66-year-old man from Waaihoek Farm. The pensioner’s body was found leaning against a tractor in the plantation yesterday.
Information at the police’s disposal revealed that the farmer was last seen on June 8. He was reported missing by a relative on June 11.

A search was conducted and his body was found in the plantation, not far from his residence.
“A preliminary probe suggested that he was struck repeatedly with a sharp object. It appears that his firearm is also missing from his home as well as his two employees, believed to be from the Kingdom of eSwatini. Their identities are yet to be established,” said Col Mntsholi Bhembe.
No arrest has been made thus far. The police have taken a woman in for questioning.
