Everyone loves the smell of an alluring fragrance

Thembi Mathumbu, a local entrepreneur and owner of Odore Dolce Essentials, has all the alluring fragrance you can dream off.

Thembi undertakes to produce your favourite designer perfume at a reasonable price.  Odore Dolce, Italian for “sweet smell”, provides amazing fragrances with an African touch.

Her products are made from top quality fragrance oils imported from France and they ensure optimal longevity.

Thembi’s dream of being an entrepreneur was realised after attending a course on making perfumes and other hygiene products.

“I was trained in mixing the essentials oils for a variety of products,” she said.

After training, Thembi started making her own perfumes which are inspired by designer brands. She used her savings to start her business in the comfort of her house.

Being a full-time employee did not stop her from pursuing her dreams.

She uses her spare time, weekends and afternoons to make her oil-based perfumes from essential oils, and also manufacture natural soap, glycerine soap, lip balms and body lotions with matching perfumes, and body butter from essential oils.

Her vision is to expand her business and have a perfume firm creating job opportunities for many. She recommends Odore Dolce’s products for the whole family.

“Our pro-natural soaps contain no chemicals, are SLES–free and recommended for all skin types and those with skin problems,” she said.

Having suffered from skin problems, she consulted professionals several times until a dermatologist told her she had eczema caused by soap. She started researching the causes which motivated her to register for a perfume-making course where she gained skills to make perfumes and soaps suitable for her skin.

“We started with only 40 perfumes and now make enough for local suppliers. They sell at stock price for bulk purchases. We are currently in the process of getting product bar codes and packaging, and retailing the products in shops.”
