MEC Shongwe to officiate MP Show opening

The Mpumalanga Show opens today.

The official opening will be conducted the MEC for agriculture rural development, land and environmental affairs, Vusi Shongwe who also officiates as Head of Government Business.

The show is a three-day family event, held at the Mbombela Stadium.

 

Premier Refilwe Mtshweni-Tsipane said: “The show marks the end of the Women’s Month and what better way to end this important month by showcasing our province to the people of South Africa. I encourage people from the home of the rising sun and the country to attend the show and get to learn about the opportunities that exist in the Agri-processing industry and associated industries.”

This annual spectacular aims to showcase the province and the advancements made in the agri-processing and mining industries. There will be over 200 stalls with different government departments showcasing their areas of functionality. Other stalls will include live stock, milking of goats and snakes.

For the first time the South African Defence Force will also be showcasing its work at the show.

The show ends on Sunday with a jazz show with Mpumalanga born musician, Dr Rebecca Malope and Lira, among others.
