Majuba sets to improve matric results from 79 to 82%

The Department has established 65 centres for spring classes for 13 241 grade 12 learners from the underperforming schools( I.e schools performing below70%) which started on Monday to Friday.

Education MEC, Bonakele Majuba has been encouraged by the way the Spring Classes are progressing following his visit to Bonginhlanhla Secondary School Centre Siyabuswa yesterday that he predicted his target for the Class of 2019 to be 82 per cent from 79 per cent.

He urged learners at Bonginhlanhla Secondary School to take advantage of the opportunities at their disposal, to apply for admission at institutions of higher education and to further apply for bursaries on time.
He further urged communities to create an enabling environment for the learners to study.

Today he will visit the Mabharule Secondary School Center in Bushbuckridge Local Municipality at 11.00 still to motivate learners and extend his appreciation to teachers.

On Friday he will visit a Centre at Izimbali Boarding School at Mkhondo Local Municipality at 10.00.
