Bus and truck head-on collision leaves two dead

The deceased were passengers in both vehicles.

Two people were killed when a bus and a truck collided head-on early this morning on the R573 known as Moloto Road near KwaMhlanga.

The injured were stabilised on the scene before being rushed to nearby hospitals. The deceased were passengers in both vehicles. The cause of the collision is still not known at this stage. However, police investigations are underway.

The MEC for Community Safety, Security and Liaison, Gabisile Shabalala sent her condolences to the bereaved families and she has also wished those who were injured a speedy recovery.

She called on motorists to be cautious when using especially during wet weather conditions. She also added that with increased vigilance on the part of motorists and other road users, crashes will be reduced during this holiday season and beyond.
