 Limpopo records third Covid-19 death

Limpopo has recorded its third Covid-19 coronavirus fatality.

POLOKWANE – The death was confirmed by Limpopo Department of health MEC, Phophi Ramathuba, earlier today.

“It is with sadness that Limpopo announces another Covid-19 death. This is the third death in the province since the start of Covid-19,” revealed Ramathuba.

To date, 41 cases have been recorded cumulatively, with only 10 cases remaining active and in isolation, and 28 recovered.

Ramathuba said the recorded death was from the private sector (Netcare Pholoso) and the deceased was a 76-year-old with a known heart problem who needed an emergency, life-saving procedure to keep his heart working.

“Unfortunately he passed away whilst busy with the operation. He had also tested Covid-19 positive and therefore it was reported as a coronavirus death,” added Ramathuba.

The MEC said as of Thursday there were no Covid-19 patients admitted to Limpopo hospitals, both private and public.
