Farewell to beloved member

The team, dressed in pink and black, went to support the bereaved family.

As a way to bid farewell to one of their members, the Lowveld Walkers cancelled their weekly event and dressed up in their walking gear for the funeral.

Jackolina Sheena Lubisi was laid to rest on Saturday. The team, dressed in pink and black, went to support the bereaved family.

According to Joseph Mashaba, the founder of Lowveld Walkers, Lubisi had been a committed member who joined in 2019.

“It is painful for the team; we send our prayers and thoughts to the family. I want to thank them for the amazing efforts, contributions and endless commitment. We know at times certain decisions do not make sense, like wearing pink to a funeral, although I believe everyone who attended the funeral now understand and saw the everlasting impact that we have left on the family,” he said.

A family member shared a message on the Lowveld Walkers’ Facebook page.

“Lowveld Walkers, I would like to thank you for the support and love that you showed us as a family during this difficult time. You made a big impact on all of us. May God bless you all endlessly. Thank you so much. This will never be forgotten.”
