Mpumalanga SAPS employees to receive Covid-19 vaccine on Thursday

The launch will take place at the provincial head office in 7 Ferreira Street.

The SAPS will start its Covid-19 vaccination roll-out programme for all employees in the province on Thursday.

The MEC for community safety, security and liaison, Vusumuzi Shongwe, the MEC for health, Sasekani Manzini, and the provincial commissioner of the SAPS in Mpumalanga, Lt Gen Semakaleng Manamela, will lead the launch at the provincial head office in 7 Ferreira Street, starting at 07:30 for 08:00.

The provincial police spokesperson, Brig Leonard Hlathi, said Shongwe and Manamela will form part of the first group of SAPS employees to be vaccinated on the day.

“The Mpumalanga SAPS plan to vaccinate over 11 000 employees at the 11 registered sites across the province. The sites are the SAPS Provincial Head Office, as well as the following police stations: Hazyview, Nelspruit, Tonga, Secunda, Standerton, Piet Retief, Ermelo, Middelburg, Witbank and Kwamhlanga,” he said.
