Volksrust woman stands accused of killing her son
According to the police, an altercation broke out, and upon their arrival, the woman was found with the victims in her house.

A woman (36) appeared in the Volksrust District Court on Monday October 10 for the murder of her teenage son and two counts of attempted murder on her mother and infant.
The woman was arrested on Friday October 7. The police found her at the scene after an altercation at her house was reported to them.
A Mpumalanga SAPS spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, said the 13-year-old boy was found dead, and two other family members were found injured.

“The police were informed about a fight at a certain house. Upon arrival, the members had to break the locked door to gain entry and discovered the body of the teenager lying in a pool of blood in the lounge. The slain victim had visible stab wound in the chest and in his throat. Meanwhile, the mother of the accused was found hiding in the toilet with a stab wound on her lower body. The injured infant was found in the same room with the woman, who was then arrested,” Mdhluli said.
The case was postponed to Friday November 11 for further investigation. The accused has been remanded in custody.

The provincial police commissioner, Lieutenant General Semakaleng Manamela, strongly condemned the incident and urged the public to seek professional help whenever they come across challenges, so that horrific incidents like these are prevented.
