World champion train Taekwondo enthusiasts in Mbombela

Master Warren Vice said the seminar was a great success.

The 22-time world champion, Master Warren Vice, equipped members of Radiant Taekwondo Academy with great martial arts techniques during the sparring seminar at Shonalanga Sports Hall at the Nelspruit Army Support Base on Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9.

The event was hosted by the founder of the academy, Master Job Magagula, who holds a fifth-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do International, is a fifth-degree black belt master of the American Iron Dragon organisation, and won a bronze medal at the 2013 Tae Kwon Do International World Championship.

As a sixth-degree black belt of Tae Kwon Do International, Vice said he enjoys promoting martial arts and training others.

“We are having a seminar so that senior grades can go for their black belts to be able to start teaching. There are so many things that people can learn about themselves through martial arts – how to be with other people and how to present themselves.”

Vice is originally from the United Kingdom.

“I met Job in 2013. He invited me to come over to South Africa to inspire his learners. I came through. This was before Covid-19 and we had a seminar that went well. Compared to the last time I was here, the school has grown, and he has done very well to get people back after the pandemic.”

Magagula said he invited Vice so that he can inspire and assist them as they prepare for the international competition.

“We will participate in an international competition, and I wanted to prepare the team. Master Vice helps them to get exposed to different skills. We received great feedback from them.”
