Police in Delmas seize dagga worth over R1m

344kg of dagga and a Ford SUV were confiscated on Monday February 20.

An anti-crime farm watch recovered 344kg of dagga, with a street value of about R1.4m, on a farm outside Delmas on Monday February 20 at about 03:00.
According to Brigadier Selvy Mohlala, a provincial police spokesperson, members of the watch were visiting some of their crime unit officials when they noticed three vehicles in a maize field.
“When they drew closer to investigate, two bakkies sped off, leaving a blue Ford SUV behind. As the members approached it and knocked on a window, the driver opened a door and fled the scene on foot leaving the vehicle behind.”
