Matsulu Cricket Club gets brand-new sporting equipment

Various stakeholders attended the handover event of the Matsulu Cricket Club's brand-new sport equipment, a game was enjoyed and medals were handed out.

It was a joyous day for Matsulu Cricket Club when they received their brand-new sport equipment at Takheleni Primary School on February 26.

Sibusiso Mkhonza, a Nelspruit Area Public Servants Association of South Africa (PSA) shop steward, saw these kids’ dedication and decided to help them acquire a kit.

He said he saw the impact the sports programme was making in the community. “Cricket has managed to keep the kids from the streets and helped them focus on something that will make a difference in their lives. After I saw their commitment, I contacted the provincial PSA office and informed them about Matsulu Cricket Club’s needs. They came on board and purchased a laptop and 45 branded tracksuits.”
