Primary school in Bushbuckridge vandalised

The Department of Education said it had reported the vandalism to the police and requests help from anyone who might have information to assist.

The administration block and classrooms of Matlolane Primary School in Buskbuckridge were vandalised in the early hours of April 21.

This public school falls under the Shatale Circuit in Bohlabela District.

Many of the school’s windows and doors were destroyed. According to the Department of Education (DoE), it is suspected that explosives might have been used to break into the buildings.

“This incident was reported to the police, and they have started with their investigation. The department condemns this incident and requests anyone with information about those who did this, to report it to the SAPS. The department will send officials to assess the damage and to advise on what needs to be done going forward,” said the DoE’s spokesperson, Gerald Sambo.
