KaBokweni locals dazzle in cultural attire for Heritage Day

The residents of Phola Park in KaBokweni went all out to commemorate their culture for Heritage Month.

Some locals of Phola Park, in KaBokweni, gathered on Monday September 25 for the LLP Funerals and Old Mutual’s Heritage Day celebration.

The theme was to empower individuals with ways to uplift themselves through small and informal businesses and financial education.

Some of the locals who filled the KaBokweni Community Ministries Church were dressed in their unique and colourful South African attire. There was entertainment galore with traditional dance routines from some girls of the Tekatakho Drop-in Centre and the Timbali Temasiko group of young dancers.

Various professionals had the opportunity to be keynote speakers regarding certain topics, such as financial awareness, especially for women, by Pertunia Thabethe. Vera Ngcobo spoke about the importance having a reliable funeral policy and Zanele Sifundza encouraged the attendees to develop businesses to earn an income.

The aim of the networking session was to create a platform for locals to broaden their knowledge about modern systems to enhance their informal businesses and ways to save money.
