One dead and two injured in accident near KMI Airport

The cause of this fatal accident on the R538 is as yet unknown, but the police are in the process of investigating.

One person died and two people were seriously injured in a collision between two bakkies on the R538, near the KMI Airport traffic circle, earlier this afternoon, February 14.

According to the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison’s spokesperson, Moeti Mmusi, the two people who sustained serious injuries were rushed to nearby hospitals for further medical treatment. Their conditions are currently unknown.

The police are investigating the cause of this accident, and have opened a case of culpable homicide.

The road has been cleared and is open for traffic.
