Mpumalanga Department of Education rehabilitates Phulani Secondary

This school in Bushbuckridge recently received some much-needed new infrastructure. The old building was deemed unsafe and was replaced.

As part of the Mpumalanga Department of Education’s (DoE) commitment to improve infrastructure, Phulani Secondary School in Ximhungwe Circuit, Bushbuckridge Local Municipality, was rehabilitated.

According to the DoE’s spokesperson, Gerald Sambo, the old unsafe buildings have been replaced with state-of-the-art infrastructure, paving the way for a brighter future for rural learners.

Some of the new classrooms.

“The newly built school boasts 10 classrooms, a kitchen, an administration office, a media centre to enhance learning, a secure guardroom, and a combo sports court, creating a stimulating and supportive environment for both learners and educators. With these improved facilities, Phulani Secondary School is now well equipped to deliver quality education, fostering a thriving learning environment in which the learners can reach their full potential,” said Sambo.
