TUT and Rosebank College triumph in Mbombela intercampus clash
Three standout players earn professional trials with TS Galaxy following a day of competitive varsity sports action.
Hundreds of students from four higher education institutions gathered at the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT) Mbombela campus for the inaugural Socialist Xperience (SX) Intercampus Clash 2026.
Students from TUT, the University of Mpumalanga, Eduvos Mbombela and Rosebank College competed in soccer and netball on Saturday, August 1, while enjoying entertainment, networking opportunities and interactive partner activations. The event attracted hundreds of students, supporters and stakeholders, showcasing the power of sport to unite institutions across Mpumalanga.

Rosebank College and TUT win finals
The highly anticipated netball final saw Rosebank College emerge victorious with an impressive 18-7 win over Eduvos. Kgomotso Magopane of Eduvos was recognised for her outstanding performance throughout the tournament, earning the Golden Bib award. In the soccer final, TUT claimed the inaugural championship with a convincing 2-0 victory over Rosebank College.
Despite the loss, Siyabonga Khoza from Rosebank College received the Golden Boot award.
Three players secure TS Galaxy trials
Three players were selected by TS Galaxy for trials during the tournament.
The SX Intercampus Clash was created to promote student well-being, institutional collaboration and healthy competition while providing a platform for young people to connect beyond the classroom. Through sport, leadership and engagement activities, the event celebrated student talent and strengthened relationships among higher education institutions in the province.

The organisers highlighted the Intercampus Clash as the beginning of what is expected to become a flagship annual student sporting and engagement platform.
