Mbombela company uplifts schoolchildren in Sterkspruit

The kids received tools to assist them for the rest of their primary schooling years. The programme also prepared them for some of the issues they might face in high school.

Nelspruit Crushers recently embarked on a school support programme at Sijabulile Primary School in Sterkpruit.

One of the organisers of the handover, Siyabonga Nkambule, said the aim of programme was to increase the knowledge of the Grade Seven learners and prepare them for high school, and to educate them against dropping out of school, peer pressure, teenage pregnancy and other issues faced by teenagers in the school adjacent to the mining facility in Alkmaar.

“We were accompanied by the SAPS and representatives of the Department of Education and GRIP. School shoes, backpacks with lunch packs and sanitary towels were donated to the learners. Two scientific calculators and two mathematical sets were won by learners during a fun competition at the programme,” Nkambule said.
