Three men arrested in KaBokweni
The suspects were allegedly found in possession unlicensed firearms and ammunition.

Three male suspects, aged between 32 and 35 years old, were arrested in KaBokweni for possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition on July 5.
According to a provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Donald Mdhluli, the suspects were apprehended by the members of the provincial Serious and Violent Crime Unit’s tracking team.
“Police received information on the whereabouts of the suspects, who were allegedly involved in various crimes, including robberies committed recently in the province. We followed up on the information which led us to separate houses at KaBokweni. Upon our arrival at the two houses we recoverd high-calibre firearms, including pistols and rifles, and firearm silencers, as well as ammunition,” he said.

Mdhluli said the firearms will undergo ballistic testing to determine whether they were previously used in the commission of crime elsewhere, and more charges could possibly be added against the suspects as the investigation continues.

The police are also investigating the suspects’ possible involvement in a recent farm attack that occurred on Thursday, July 4 in Kaapsehoop, in which firearms and ammunition were stolen.
