Easthigh Academy wins Forek U17 championships in KaBokweni

During this last season, Easthigh played 24 matches and won 19

It was a battle of the finest when Easthigh Academy won the Forek U17 Development League final at KaBokweni Stadium on Sunday, November 10. Easthigh faced 1341 Stars FC and won 1-0.

The champions of the Forek U17 League played 24 matches, won 19 and lost only two during this season.
1341 Stars played 22 games in the league, won 15 and lost only three.

The league’s co-ordinator, David Nkosi, said Easthigh defeated TNE Sporting, and 1341 Stars won against Sibange Young Bucks U17, in the semifinals.

Nkosi said this season’s league featured two streams, Mbelanko and White-Hazy, to allow more teams to be part of this professionally run developmental league in the province.

On Saturday, the teams played for positions, also at KaBokweni Stadium.

Nkosi said the next season will start in March. He couldn’t help but express his excitement about the achievements reached this year. He said when they started, they had 16 teams, and this year they had 24 in total.

He added that it was an honour to see the South African Football Association’s deputy president, Linda Zwane, and Walter Steenbok, it’s technical director, support the local championship.
