Women’s social golf club launched in Hazyview
The main aim is to start the group inspiring, motivating, interacting with and connecting women, while embracing wellness on the golf course.
A passionate group of Mpumalangan women launched the Pristine Ladies Golf Club (PLGC) at Kruger Park Lodge in Hazyview on November 17.
According to the PLGC’s president, Mahlatse Malibe, the main aim of the group is to inspire, motivate, interact with and connect other women, while embracing wellness on the golf course.

“We are passionate about helping to grow the game of golf, changing the face of the sport across Mpumalanga and playing against other women across the country. The PLGC is a vibrant community where women golfers of all skill levels can come together, connect and uplift one another. We are dedicated to encouraging more women to play golf and increase participation in the sport. The growth of ladies’ golf in Mpumalanga has been increasing over the years, driven by various factors such as golf development programmes, increased participation in tournaments, supportive infrastructure, role models and ambassadors, women’s golf associations, social and lifestyle appeal, tourism, international exposure and a supportive community,” she said.

Malibe also said overall, women’s golf in Mpumalanga is progressing steadily, with increased opportunities and support helping to pave the way for more female golfers in the region. “So, whether Mpumalanga’s women are looking to connect with others to play golf, stay updated with the latest news, perfect their game, learn tips and tricks or have a laugh while gracing the fairways, the PLGC has got them covered. Through carefully curated wellness retreats and events, our aim is to build lasting connections, share insights and explore joint ventures in a supportive female-centric environment.”

Malibe said PLGC golfers will create periodic breaks from work for the executives. The members will support one another’s holistic wellness required for duty through golf, by taking the game to all the provinces and competing in tournaments sanctioned by the Professional Golfers Association of South Africa.

“We offer a blend of health-centred travel experiences, sports wellness activities and exclusive networking opportunities in stunning golf courses across our country and worldwide,” said Malibe.
The PLGC memberships are open to those from 25 years of age and offers monthly lessons at a driving range with a pro golfer, monthly home games, national away games and annual international games.
