Meet Vuyo Mabuza, the hottest MC around this festive season

Vuyo Mabuza recently showcased his talent and skill at the 013 Summer Blaze music festival, marking this as a first of many.

A local talent with a strong passion for MCing, Vuyo Mabuza, also known as Mshengu59, is the life of every party everyone needs this festive season.

He was one of the MCs at the recent 013 Summer Blaze festival in Mbombela and he believes this was a dream come true as he has only ventured into MCing recently.

“MCing in front of more than 16 000 people was nerve-wracking, but a great and unforgettable experience. This opportunity made me feel different and special. It gave me that extra realisation to not undermine my talent. I believe it has opened more doors of opportunities, especially to be known by bigger crowds,” Mabuza said.

He said he started MCing in December 2023 and was pushed in the front lines by many people who played a role in his development, including his manager, Rudy Nyembe. Mshengu59 has been spotted many times MCing at local entertainment establishments and events alongside DJs, such as DJ Geenger.

“At first this was a side hustle, but as I got more compliments and was influenced by various people, I came out of the shadows and embraced it fully.”

If he is not onstage entertaining people, Mabuza is out in Nsikazi’s streets creating funny conversations with locals for the Street Level Cred podcast that is gaining momentum on TikTok.

Mabuza said his dream is to become an internationally recognised MC like Uncool MC, who took the entertainment industry by a storm this year.

“I want to work harder and make serious money from MCing. The goal is to become an amapiano vocalist. I want to enhance my creativity by writing music as well,” he said.
