GRAPHIC CONTENT | Human remains discovered near river in Tjakastad

The police only retrieved a skull and torso. The other body parts are missing.

The Elukwatini police are investigating an inquest case after some human remains were discovered near a river by a herder in Tjakastad on Tuesday afternoon, January 21.

According to a Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, a human skull and a detached torso were retrieved. Only the right arm was present, but the hand was missing. The left arm and both legs were nowhere to be found.

“The police are urging members of the community to assist with any information that could help identify the remains or provide insight into what may have occurred. Anyone who has a missing family member is encouraged to report this to the nearest police station immediately,” Ndubane said.
