Her body had multiple stab wounds and she was wearing only a T-shirt.

The body of a woman was found with multiple stab wounds in Siyabuswa on the afternoon of Sunday, February 2.

“The family became suspicious when they returned from church in the afternoon, and her room was still closed and locked. The family decided to use a spare key to open the door. They found her body lying in a pool of blood, half naked,” said provincial police spokesperson, Colonel Jabu Ndubane.

“The police and paramedics were informed about the incident and, upon their arrival, the victim was certified dead,” explained Ndubane.

Ndubane said a murder case has been opened and the preliminary investigations suggested that the woman had possibly been stabbed with a sharp object as her body had multiple visible injuries.

No arrests have been made yet and police investigations continue.

The police urge anyone with information regarding this incident to call Detective Constable Bridget Mashego on 068 327 8168, or the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111, or send information via the My SAPS app.

“All received information will be treated as confidential and callers may opt to remain anonymous,” concluded Ndubane.
