Multitalented Pienaar musician on his way to success
He made waves in the music scene after releasing his first song, “Bayoy'susa", in 2018. He is now planning to release an EP.
An upcoming Pienaar musician considers himself a man of many talents.
This talent produces poetry and songwriting for hip-hop, Afrobeats and amapiano music.
Sanele Khumalo, best known as Maphulalitje SD, first began making music in 2019 when he released his debut single, “I Just Wanna”, a song about family values. He says the song was well received by his listeners, which motivated him to make more music.
Maphulalitje SD prides himself in his ability to experiment with various sounds. He said he is working on a new EP, which his fans can expect soon.
He said he doesn’t have a particular favourite music style – he enjoys and appreciates many of them.
He says a project he is most proud of is his single titled “Bayoy’susa”, which features fellow upcoming artist Gumza the Vocalist.

“I love collaborating with local artists because I believe we have something special to offer this industry. I would love to work with artists such as Rambo S, but my biggest inspiration in hip-hop is the renowned musician, Big Zulu. I would also love to work with the gospel artist, Dumi Mkokstad,” he said.
Maphulalitje SD said he sees himself elevating to become one of the most well-known artists from Mpumalanga.
“I believe by building my fan base, I can become bigger and better. I see myself running my own production company in the future,” he said.
