TS Galaxy Queens secure 5-0 victory over Royal AM Ladies at KaNyamazane Stadium

Royal AM Ladies' head coach, Philani Cele, called the match a disaster.

Spectators at the KaNyamazane Stadium were treated to a stellar performance when TS Galaxy Queens secured a 5-0 victory over Royal AM Ladies on April 12.

The game got off to a flying start when Gontse Homba scored the first goal in the 13th minute, a goal which set the tone for the team’s convincing victory in the Hollywoodbets Super League match.

Seven minutes after the first goal, Nicole Michael, a former player of Royal AM, delivered the second goal.
The Queens maintained control for the rest of the first half while Royal AM struggled to create goal-scoring chances, even after Amahle Ndlovu was substituted with Anele Mkwanazi.

TS Galaxy led 2-0 at half-time. Four minutes into the second half, Sibahle Maneli scored the third goal.
Shortly afterwards, Royal AM’s goal keeper, Ziyanda Ntsele, left the net open. Homba took advantage of the opportunity, securing TS Galaxy’s fourth goal.

In the last minutes of the game, Michael sealed the win with a fifth goal. She was then substituted and the crowd applauded her for her outstanding contribution on the field.

TS Galaxy’s victory cemented their top position on the league table. With 10 points, they hold the number one spot, followed by Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies, the five-time champions of this league.

The winning team’s head coach, Lucky Sibiya, said he was glad the players implemented the ideas given to them during training.

“I’m happy we got the points and we managed to keep a clean sheet. Sometimes we look at coaches and think they should get all the credit, but it is the players who decide to play well, no matter the tactics that you give them,” he said.

Royal AM Ladies’ head coach, Philani Cele, called the match a disaster. Cele said the main problem was that the team comprised new players who are very young and inexperienced.

“There were many factors working against them, especially pressure. We needed to lose like this. It is a lesson for them. In the next game, I hope they will apply themselves,” he said.
