Queens apply pressure at KaNyamazane Stadium

Ezemvelo Women's FC created chances in the second half, but the TS Galaxy Queens defence was unmoved.

The TS Galaxy Queens have extended their winning record at home with a 3-1 victory against Ezemvelo Women’s FC in the Hollywoodbets Super League at KaNyamazane Stadium on Saturday, May 24. In a thrilling match, the Queens’ attack was noticeable from the moment the referee blew the whistle to start the game.

Ezemvelo conceded their first goal in the eighth minute, when Leandra Smeda of TS Galaxy FC scored. With the Queens’ dominance in the opening minutes of the encounter, it was evident that they wanted to register a victory at the end of the 90 minutes. Nicole Michael scored the second goal for her team for a 2-0 lead in the 11th minute.

More scoring chances were created by the Queens between the 15th and 28th minutes, but they could not convert them into goals. In the 29th minute, however, Smeda secured a brace to extend TS Galaxy Queens’ lead to 3-0.

The match went into the half-time break with TS Galaxy Queens leading 3-0. In the second half, Ezemvelo pushed hard to create scoring opportunities after introducing fresh legs, but the Queens’ defence remained solid at the back.

The visitors were hardly given an opportunity to enter the 18-yard area of the Queens. Ezemvelo’s Siphesihle Mvila, who came on as a substitute, scored a goal in the referee’s optional time.
The game ended 3-1.

TS Galaxy Queens will face Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC away this coming Saturday, while Ezemvelo Women FC will visit Royal AM. TS Galaxy Queens are five points below Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies FC on the log after 10 games, with 23 points.
