KaBokweni family in shock after brother allegedly murders sister
A KaBokweni family has discovered the man allegedly killed and buried his older sister in a shallow grave.
The Nkosi family is reeling after the discovery of the body of Sibongile Precious Nkosi (44), who was allegedly killed by her younger brother, Mluleki Nkosi (30). Sibongile had been missing since May 29 last year. Although the family had searched for her, no missing person’s case was ever opened with the police.
Her remains were discovered in a shallow grave in the family’s yard on Thursday, June 5, after Mluleki led police to the site. He was arrested on Tuesday, June 3. According to Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Brigadier Donald Mdhluli, Mluleki told police he had a heated argument with his sister on the day of her disappearance.

The altercation allegedly turned violent, resulting in her death. He admitted to burying her body and remaining silent for nearly a year. “DNA tests will be conducted as part of the ongoing investigation,” said Mdhluli.

Mluleki appeared in the KaBokweni Magistrate’s Court on June 5, facing charges of murder and defeating the ends of justice. He informed the court that he did not require legal representation. The case was postponed to August 14 for further investigation.
Sibongile’s elder brother, Vusimuzi Nkosi, said it was difficult to accept the tragic circumstances surrounding her death.

“This whole thing does not sit well with me, my soul is not okay. The only thing that will give me closure is to confront him. Only then will my soul be at peace,” he said.
