Mpumalanga police looking for family of man found dead in Vaalbank

Police said any information received from the public regarding this man will be treated as confidential.

The police in Vaalbank are appealing to members of the public to assist in locating the family of an unidentified man who was found dead on June 17.

The Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Lieutenant Colonel Jabu Ndubane, said police officers were driving on the main road when they noticed a person on the ground on the roadside of the Vaalbank main road.

She said the incident occurred at 20:49, a few kilometres from the local traffic department.

“Upon closer inspection, they discovered that it was a lifeless body of man. He was lying on his back and bleeding from the head. The deceased was wearing a brown pair of trousers, a white Uzzi shirt, and a black jacket. A note was also found in his pocket with a name Kitsiso Ratlhagane on it.

”Ndubane said despite efforts made, the police have not yet succeeded in locating the next of kin and are now requesting the public’s help.

“Anyone with information that could assist in identifying the deceased or locating his family, is urged to contact the investigating officer, Warrant Officer Solomon Baloyi, on 066 482 8918, or the Vaalbank SAPS on 013 947 6192.”

Ndubane said alternatively, information can be reported anonymously by calling the Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or via the My SAPS app.
