Youth Day donations to benefit four schools in Pienaar
Soccer teams and locals banded together to make meaningful donations to those in need.
More than 300 sanitary pads, bath soaps, lotions, and school jerseys were donated to celebrate Youth Day on Monday, June 16. The Eblomini Chillas and Carwash hosted an exciting community soccer tournament at Thembisa Sports Ground.
The spectators and participants made donations that would benefit underprivileged learners of Pienaar. Four local soccer teams showcased their skills on the field. Top Star FC was victorious in the final, defeating Zone 14 FC 3-1.

According to the organiser, Andiswa Sithole, the event was an incredible success. “From the teams who showed up with great energy, to the supporters and referees, everyone made the day even more special,” Sithole said.

The games were exciting, well played and full of community spirit.

“The people showed up, not only to enjoy the soccer, but to support a meaningful cause. We received a lot more donations than we had anticipated and we truly felt the love and unity in our community. It was a day to remember and we are proud to say we achieved what we set out to,” said Sithole.
