These are significant roles within the global gambling regulatory community. His appointment recognises his distinguished leadership, the growing influence of MER as a credible regulatory institution, and South Africa’s pivotal role in shaping responsible gaming policy and practice on the continent.
“These appointments are not only a recognition of Mtsweni’s personal leadership but also a proud moment for the MER and the province,” said Thando Lamula-Shirinda, the MER’s board chairperson.
“They position our province and our country at the forefront of continental and global discussions on responsible gambling, innovation, and sustainable regulation.”
