Mpumalanga Department of Agriculture celebrates new graduate crop

The students had mentors who supported and assisted them during this programme.

The Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Land and Environmental Affairs (Dardlea) recently celebrated 116 graduates at Nutting House Lodge.

The students participated in the department’s 2023-25 Agricultural Graduates Programme and were placed at 94 farms across the province, where farm owners and managers served as their mentors during on-the-job training, preparing them for the sector.

The MEC for agriculture, Khethiwe Moeketsi, handed over completion certificates and encouraged graduates to continue using the department’s extension services programme.

The event was also attended by representatives from organised agriculture and local farmers.
