Mpumalanga hosts athletes from all over SA for National SASA II Summer Games
Mpumalanga hosts athletes from across South Africa for the SASA Summer Games at Lowveld High School to celebrate talent.
Song, dance and the heartbeat of Mpumalanga ignited Lowveld High School, setting a vibrant and welcoming tone at the official opening of the SASA II Summer Games on Monday, March 16.
This five-day spectacle brings together a formidable collection of young champions from special schools across the nation.
The opening ceremony was fittingly officiated by the Department of Education (DoE) HOD, Lucy Moyane. She was joined by the president of SASA II, Ronnie Mohlabi, alongside dignitaries and education leaders from across the country.

As the games commence, athletes will compete across a range of sporting codes, including swimming, hockey, rowing, table tennis, and cricket.
The DoE said: “These are fields of possibility where barriers are broken and new records of courage are set. Mpumalanga stands proud and honoured to host this celebration of ability, diversity, and hope.”
The department extended its best wishes to all participants for a journey filled with memorable victories, personal bests and moments that will echo far beyond the finish line.
