DNA tests pending on human remains found in Komatipoort crocodile
Police are investigating human remains found in a crocodile in Komatipoort, with DNA testing set to confirm a possible link to a missing businessman.
Human remains were found in a crocodile that was put down in the Komatipoort area on Saturday, May 2.
Captain Pottie Potgieter of the Ehlanzeni Diving Unit confirmed the discovery. A forensic necropsy was conducted after the crocodile was airlifted to a nearby field.

Mpumalanga police spokesperson, Colonel Mavela Masondo, said DNA tests will be conducted to establish whether the human remains are those of a 59-year-old businessman who was reported missing after his Ford Ranger was found trapped on a low-lying bridge over the Komati River on April 27.
Masondo said the necessary permission was obtained to put down the crocodile.
