Mpumalanga police recover stolen firearms
Mpumalanga police recovered six stolen firearms and arrested a suspect during a tracing operation in Masibekela Trust, Mbuzini.
The police recovered six firearms that were reported to be among those stolen during an incident in Malalane last month.
The security multidisciplinary team conducted a tracking and tracing operation regarding a suspect who was allegedly in possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition at Masibekela Trust in Mbuzini.
A revolver, a 9mm Vector firearm, a .303 calibre rifle, 27 rounds of .303 ammunition and four 9mm magazines were found, and the suspect was arrested.

Acting Mpumalanga police commissioner Major General Dr Zeph Mkhwanazi commended the members for their swift response.
“The recovery of these firearms is a significant step in preventing further violent crimes. We commend our members for their dedication and urge communities to continue working with the police by providing valuable information that can assist in the fight against crime,” said Mkhwanazi.

The suspect will appear at the relevant Magistrate’s Court soon.
Police investigations are ongoing and they are requesting anyone with information that could assist the police to contact Crime Stop number on 08600 10111 or alternatively use the MySAPS app to report anonymously.
