Mpumalanga schools prepare learners for mid-year exams

Schools across Mpumalanga are entering a crucial exam period as learners prepare for mid-year assessments.

As the academic year progresses, schools across Mpumalanga are entering one of the most important periods in the education calendar. The winter school examinations are set to begin on May 11 and end on June 26.
Schools throughout the province have intensified revision programmes, extra classes and study sessions to ensure that learners are fully equipped to perform at their best. Teachers have been working tirelessly to support learners, focusing on key subject areas and exam techniques.

A teacher from St Mark’s School in Mbombela, Nontsikelelo Thwala, said she started afternoon classes with her learners to prepare them for the upcoming exams. “I have been working on some of the topics they seem to struggle with in class. I believe that this method will be very helpful to them when they sit for the exams,” she said.

The examination period is an opportunity for learners to demonstrate their understanding of the curriculum and identify areas for improvement. Schools have emphasised the importance of discipline, punctuality and thorough preparation during this time.
As the exams continue through May and June, the school term will officially come to an end on June 26.
